Rental of Facilities Information

General Guidelines

Banquet Rooms are rented to members ONLY.  The Legion member MUST sign the contract, even if they are sponsoring the rental for another user.

DEPOSITA non-refundable deposit of $100 must be paid in order to reserve each room.  This deposit will be subtracted from the remaining balance due.  Room must be paid in full no later than 7 (seven) business days before the scheduled event.

AVAILABILITY:  Rooms are available for rent between 9am and 12 Midnight.  Rooms will not be held without deposit.  Rooms are not available for rent on days that the Post is closed.  The Main Hall is not available on Bingo nights.

FUNCTIONS ALLOWEDMoney making enterprises and children’s events are not allowed.  Allowable events are business meetings and corporate training, holiday parties, wedding receptions, bridal and/or baby showers, special event parties, and community events.

RENTAL HOURSYour rental agreement covers a five hour period.  You are to assure that your guests, caterer and DJ are aware of this.  You will be allowed a thirty minute grace period to clear the building at the end of your function.

OUTSIDE CATERINGYour caterer must be self sufficient and able to provide all equipment and supplies for your function.  Food cannot be cooked or re-heated on the premises.  Set-up and removal of equipment, supplies and food must be done during your allotted rental time. 

NON-ALCOHOL FUNCTIONSThere is to be no alcohol brought on the premises, inside the building or in the parking lot.  If alcohol is found, your function will be immediately TERMINATED without refund.

ALCOHOL FUNCTIONSThe person whose name is on the contract is required to obtain the appropriate Alcohol Permit from the Alcohol Beverage Control Department, 4907 W. Mercury Boulevard, Hampton, VA (757) 825-7830.  A copy of the Virginia ABC permit must be received by American Legion Post 368 no later than 7 (seven) days before your function.  Your original permit must also be posted in the banquet room during your function.  Bartenders are available for hire.  Alcohol must be provided by the renter and cannot be sold at the function.  No one under 21 may be in possession of any alcoholic beverage while on Legion property.

LINENSWhite linens are included in the rental fee.  If your room includes linens and you decline them, no reduction in fees will be given.  Table skirts are available in white only, and will be put on serving tables for you. 

GUESTSYou are responsible for the conduct of your guests, caterer, DJ, and any other person or persons on the property at your request.  They are to enjoy the hospitality of the room you have rented and no food or drinks are to be consumed outside that area.  There is to be no loitering outside the building.  There is to be no smoking in the large or small banquet rooms, in the hallway, or in the bathrooms.  Banquet rooms are temperature controlled.  Please do not prop doors open during function.

EXTRAS:  We will set the room up to your specifications, cover and skirt the tables.  We are not responsible for decorating your room unless that service has been made part of your contract.  Please schedule an appointment at least one week prior to your function to set the tables in the room to your specifications.  We are unable to provide functions with silverware, china, and glassware.  You may bring or rent these items from another source.  Items not removed immediately after your function will be considered abandoned and will be thrown away. If your function is not catered by us, we do not provide plates, cups, napkins or silverware unless it has been ordered and paid for in advance. 

Catered Events:  Catering services are available.  Please contact the Lounge Operations Manager at 757-874-9610 for catering details.  Menus are available upon request.  Prices are based upon number of people in the party and meals chosen.  All catering is buffet-style.  Sit down service is not available.  All features of advanced package are included with full catering.  

Advanced Room Rental
  • Includes use of banquet room for 5 hours.  Thirty minutes of set up time will be allowed before function.
  • Catering kitchen facilities, adjacent to the banquet rooms and ice are included.  Rental of the Main Hall does not include any kitchen facilities.
  • If more than one event is scheduled, the first reservation has access to the kitchen.
  • Food and drink are not included.
  • White Linens, tables, and chairs will be provided.
  • Clean up and trash removal is included.
